Spring Project Reflection

1.        Some examples of how my group used teamwork while working on our project was that we always gave each other feedback on each thing that we did on our own.  We also reviewed everyone in our group’s work to see if it was done correctly and even took away points when things weren’t done correctly. 

2.       Some of the biggest challenges are group faced was getting everybody to complete what was assigned each day.  Our group has some people who don’t like to do work and if not completed it could affect our overall grade. 

3.       What I will do differently on the next project considering I have less time is make deadlines each day and meet each deadline by the end of class.  I will let my group members know to keep reminding me to stay on task. 

4.       I’m happy with the overall performance of my group because all of us got everything accomplished when the deadlines came.  We all worked together and reminded each other when the due dates came to accomplish each task. 

5.       I enjoyed working with partners on this project because it let us be more freely and work with one another.  I also like the overall assignment that was given to us. 

6.       There’s nothing that I didn’t enjoy about the project. 

7.       If I could design my own project from scratch it would be that we would have to make our own sculpture using our own topic.  We would choose a topic and build a sculpture based on anything you want about the topic.  This would be a group project and you will need to get your own materials based on what you’re building.   

"Environmental Awareness Post-Assessment/Reflection"

1. When I hear the word environment I think of the outside world and the people around me.  I also think about trees and grass.  Environment also has to do with the animals habitats to. 
2.  Problems that humans may face with regard to the environment is polluting the environment and the effects of global warming.  The global warming can affect the climate change in the world. 
3.  Problems that animals may face with regard to the environment is the destroying of their habbitats and the pollution in their environment.  Animals environment are affected by people who cut down their trees and destroy things such as forest. 
4.  I know that recycling is good for the environment because it helps limit waste and keep reusing materials.  Recycling can consist of paper, bottles, and cardboard. 
5.  I think recycling is important because it helps the environment by not piling up on waste and renewing the materials. Its also important because it limits resources. 
6.  Some things individuals can do to keep our environment healthy for people and animals are recycling bottles, paper, and going green in their houseld.
7.  Some things communities can do to keep our environment healthy for people and animals are spreading the word about going green in their community and setting up a going green community group.
8.  Some things large industries can do to keep our environment healthy for people and animals are creating materials created out of recycled materials and making going green items available for everyone.  Also large industries can stop destroying animals habitats.
9.  On a scale from 1-10 im a 3 because I know that the environment is important to me but i really could care less because what 1 person does wont make a difference.
10.  I think my work on the I-Search was ok because i spent alot of quality time on it but i didnt finish a part.  I think my work on the I-Search has helped me become more college ready because it prepared me for what we will do in college working on a I-Search paper.  Next time I work on an I-Search paper i will use my outside time more effeciently. 

Project Upcycle Reflection

The active members in my group were me and Cleve. 
My teams project didnt go as planned because at the last minute my team kicked me out the group unexpectedly and i had to regroup on my own. 
I was responsible for creating are project and designing it.  Cleve was responsible for painting our project. 
The skills we needed to use to complete our project was critical thinking and teamwork because we had to figure out how to keep our basketball a round shape using paper and we had to figure out what each of us was going to do. 
This project has taught me the importance of recycling, and reusing because it taught me that many of the things we throw in the garbage and get rid of can be reused into more things instead of affecting the environment. 
The possibilities that this project has taught me when it comes to reducing, and recycling are that if the whole world can just start to recycle and be able to do an upcycle project we would limit alot of waste and stop alot of pollution. 

Environmental Awareness Pre Assesment

1.       What do you think about when you hear the word “environment?” 

 When I hear the word environment I think about the neighborhood and just the outside the world.  I think about the things that are happening around us. 

2.       Using information based on things you have read, seen, or heard, explain problems that humans may face with regard to the environment. 

 Things that I think of when I think about the environment that humans face are recycling, loitering, littering, crime, and vandalism. 

3.       Using information based on the things you have read, seen, or heard, explain problems that animals may face with regard to the environment. 

I think wild animals have to go through not having a place to have a home including wild dogs, raccoons, cats, and squirrels. 

4.       What do you know about recycling? 

I know that recycling helps the world.  Recycling trucks go around and collect bottles and plastic to be reused. 

5.       Do you think recycling is important?

I think recycling is important because it helps the world stay green.  With all the trash in the world it will have to be burned or dumped in water which will pollute it. 

6.       What are some things individuals can do to keep our environments healthy for people and animals? 

Some things people can do to keep our environments healthy is to pick up trash from outside and don’t throw away bottles and plastic. 

7.       What are some things communities can do to keep our environment healthy for people ?

Communities can help to keep our environments clean by spreading the word about recycling and going green with different items and appliances. 

8.       Some things large businesses could do to keep our environment healthy for people and animals is to go green.  If these large businesses start to go green people would be forced to buy go green products. 

9.       On a scale from 1-5 im a 3 because I really don’t care for the topic but it helps the world. 

10.   What happens to the trash on the planet?  Where does the recycled material go to ? what materials can be recycled

1.This week you recieved a grade report.  Reflect on your strengths and weaknesses for the 2nd marking period so far. 
My strengths this marking period were basically completing all of my assignments and finishing all of my papers on time.  My weaknesses this marking were completing all of my blog prompts when they were do which brought down my grade. 
2.What is one short term goal you can set for yourself?
One short term goal I want to set for myself by the end of the marking period is passing English with at least a B average. 
3.What do you have left to complete on your Career Exploration paper in order to have it turned in by the due date on December 7th?
In order to have my Career Exporation due by the date I need to complete part 2 & 3 and shadow my person that I choose. 
4.You will need a library card for the next module beginning on Monday, December 10th.  Do you have one?
Yes i have a library card. 

Now that the first marking period is coming to a close, do you think this course has been what you expected?  I think that now that the marking period is over everything that was told to me at the beginning ended up happening and it’s what I expected. 

Are you happy with your academic performance this marking period?  I am not happy with my academic performance because I feel like I didn’t put forth all of my effort this marking period.  One assignment I failed to complete this marking period is my paper about my novel and because of that I know I failed this marking period.

In what ways do you think you’re becoming more college ready?  I think I’m becoming more college ready by being on my own all the time in this course.  Also I’m becoming more college ready by creating my own schedule for when I will get my work done and I have to abide by my schedule. 

What was the goal you set for yourself last week?  Were you successful or not?  Explain.  Last week I was unsuccessful in setting a goal for myself. 

What is one short term goal you can set for yourself for the coming week?  One short term goal I can set for myself in the coming week is improving my grade next marking period. 

What have you been doing to keep up with your reading schedule and prepare for Student-led Discussions? To keep up with my reading schedule I have been just looking over it to see what I need to do on the days that I gave myself something to do.  Also for upcoming Student-Led Discussions I have been reading chapters from my book every night to be prepared for class discussions. 

What is the most profound idea you have had as a result of your reading?  The most profound idea I have as a result of me reading is that many women that travel to visit Thailand or many southern countries from the U.S. are abducted and sold into trafficking for a very little amount of money.   

What is the most interesting idea that resulted from a student-led discussions in which you participated?  The most interesting idea that resulted from a student led discussion that I participated in was music and media. 

What are you enjoying?  I am enjoying the things that are going on in my book including a girl being abducted and being tricked into going to school. 

What do you find challenging?  The things I find challenging is connecting and giving feedback to other people’s books because my mind is already in another place from connecting to my book.
